Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership (KRSP) is delighted to announce the allocation of €16,493.50 in grant funding across three vital initiatives. This significant investment will empower 10 sports clubs and 3 community groups across Kilkenny, enhancing local sports participation and fostering stronger, more inclusive communities.

This funding underscores KRSP’s commitment to supporting the growth of grassroots sports, establishing new clubs, and boosting engagement in existing ones. Special consideration was given to clubs operating in disadvantaged communities and those running inclusion programmes, ensuring that opportunities are extended to all.

Empowering Clubs and Communities Through Strategic Grants

KRSP’s funding is distributed through three key grant schemes, each designed to address specific needs within the local sporting landscape:

KRSP Club Development Grant Scheme: This initiative aims to strengthen sports participation across Kilkenny. Seven local sports clubs have received funding to either establish new clubs or expand their reach and attract new participants into existing programmes.

KRSP Women in Sport Support Programme: Dedicated to increasing female involvement in recreational sports and physical activities, this programme will fund seven projects across Kilkenny. The goal is to elevate women’s overall physical activity levels and deepen their engagement within sports organisations.

KRSP COVID-19 Small Grant Scheme: Continuing its vital support for recovery, this scheme helps sports clubs, community groups, and organisations reignite sports and physical activities. It aids in reconnecting with past members and welcoming new ones. There was 8 successful applications that have been selected for this assistance, helping to mitigate the lasting effects of COVID-19 and foster a resilient rebuilding process.
